BSc Sustainability: Social Science, Policy & Law
The promising developments of EU environmental policy led me to move from Washington, DC to Dublin in 2022 to study and immerse myself in the transition towards a more sustainable society. At the end of my first year at UCD, I sought to expand on my interest in sustainability research by working alongside several other students and professors on a university project to compile and geospatially map sustainable initiatives on campus. In the months that followed, my studies have since allowed me to work alongside numerous policy and environmental researchers on the WaterLANDS project- an EU funded effort seeking to understand and advise on wetland restoration spanning across Europe. In tandem with the continuing developments of environmental policy, being a member of the Shop Sustainability team is allowing me to pursue my interest in the expansion of advocacy networks for sustainable growth, land use and social/business practices. It is my long-term goal to advance the legality and moral accountability practices observed in green criminology in pursuit of sustainable and equitable social systems.
Having spent much of my childhood trying any sport under the sun, I find a familiar excitement in training these old skills when I get the chance. When the weather allows, I will also always love a day at a farmers market with a good coffee.
